Dear Friends in Christ:
Please find Bishop Quinn’s message calling for the suspension of all public Masses from Friday, March 20, 2020 through Friday, May 15, 2020 here: https://www.dowr.org/alerts.html.
The Emergency Declaration for our county and the latest message from Bishop Quinn speak to our need to be responsible for each other. This calls for severe measures to reduce/limit the consequences of COVID-19. We have an opportunity to learn new ways to share life and accompany one another and we begin by acknowledging the fact that reality is telling us to stop and listen. We are not spared the painful circumstances that people have endured through our salvation history; we are living a challenging crisis and the Lord Jesus proposes Himself. We live this time trusting in the presence of Christ. We have not been abandoned.
Please be assured of my prayer for you every day as I recall all of you in celebrating the Eucharist privately. Be open to the way Christ wants to speak to us and how Christ desires to teach you and me in the desert time of discovering the depth of His face here and now.
Please scroll down for links to Bishop Quinn’s latest message and for links to resources that will help as we pray together in our homes and with our loved ones.
God’s peace to you,
Father Jerry Mahon
