Congratulations on this exciting new season of life!
Our St. John’s Community is here to walk with you in preparing for your child’s baptism
and your family’s ongoing journey of faith.
“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit.”Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213
The preparation process for baptism includes:
- Initial visit with Megan Rodriguez to discuss your desire to have your child baptized into the Catholic faith.
- Attending a Baptism Formation Session if this is your first child to be baptized at St. John’s. Upcoming dates for 2021 and online registration is available below. There is also currently an online option to complete Baptism Formation due to the ongoing pandemic.
- Celebrating the Sacrament of Baptism at one of the weekend Masses (we do not have baptisms during Lent). Due to the pandemic baptisms are currently being held privately following our weekend Masses which are Saturday at 4:30pm and Sunday at 9:30am or 11:15am.

All Baptism Formation classes are Tuesday evenings from 6:15-7:30pm in the Fellowship Area.
Babies are welcome to attend with you.
“With Baptism we become children of God in his only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Rising from the waters of the baptismal font, every Christian hears again the voice that was once heard on the banks of the Jordan River: ‘You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.'”Pope John Paul II “Christifideles Laici”
If you are an adult or have a child over the age of 7 desiring to know more about baptism please contact Formation Director, Philip Lomneth, to learn more about The Rite of Christian Initial for both Adults and Children (RCIA/RCIC).
