Family Promise

Families are now housed at the North Star House, a static site, not in faith communities. At this new building we will be able to safely shelter families, operate a day center, house staff, and have room to grow–all while engaging our congregations and volunteers in our mission! Each host/buddy group will continue to provide the same outstanding support that we provided in our rotational shelter model. Family Promise is excited to welcome volunteers back at any time.

St. John has opportunities for people to do the following services for our Family Promise guests:

  • Meal Drop-off

  • Evening Hospitality

  • Overnight Host

  • Serve at bi-monthly life-skills classes

  • Office Work

  • Cleaning

As a “Buddy church”, the Co-Cathedral of St John’s welcomes you as part of the supportive environment and caring presence for the families served at Family Promise Rochester. For more information, please contact Mary at the Co-Cathedral of St John’s Parish Center
