Jubilee Year of Hope
On December 25, 2024, Pope Francis opened the Jubilee Year of Hope. A jubilee year is celebrated every 25 years. Throughout this year, we are called to embrace the phrase ‘Pilgrims of Hope’.
During this jubilee year, his Holiness Pope Francis has granted an indulgence to those visiting the Co-Cathedral.
The Jubilee indulgence, thanks to the power of prayer, can be applied for oneself or for a deceased person.

An indulgence is the remission before God of temporal punishment for sins whose guilt is already forgiven, which a properly disposed member of the Christian faithful gains under certain and defined conditions by the assistance of the Church which as minister of redemption dispenses and applies authoritatively the treasury of the satisfactions of Christ and the saints [Can. 992]

How to obtain an indulgence at the Co-Cathedral:
1) Spend some suitable time of prayer and meditation at the Co-Cathedral in front of the Blessed Sacrament, present in the Tabernacle.
2) Be truly repentant and free from any affection for sin.
3) Receive the sacrament of penance (in any church, a few days before or after the day you look to obtain this indulgence).
4) Receive Holy Communion.
5) Pray for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff.
6) Pray the Our Father, the Creed, and invocations to Mary, the Mother of God, so that in this Holy Year everyone will come to know the closeness of Mary, the most affectionate of mothers, who never abandons her children.
