“Simbang Gabi," which translates as evening Mass, is a Filipino tradition. Filipinos hear Mass at dawn for nine consecutive days during Advent in preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus. Special prayers are offered to request blessings from the Lord. After Mass, families partake of traditional delicacies from food stalls. It is a tradition that encourages community engagement and promotes camaraderie among parishioners. Join the Filipino Community for Mass with Bishop Barron and a reception to follow on Friday, December 16th at the Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. We will start off with a children's program at 6:45pm and then move into Mass in the church at 7:00pm.
